Joseph Ponton Costumes remains the largest and oldest costume store in Quebec.
Open since 1865, Joseph Ponton began his collection of costumes in the back room of his barbershop, located at the time on St-Laurent at the corner of Viger.
A French theater group, who unfortunately went bankrupt, sold him their costumes lot to be able to go home by boat. And that's how the adventure began trade Ponton Joseph Costumes.
